Rise

A lot of physical activity is being conducted in the opening and music that employs a quick and energetic aura is used to match the rhythm of the soccer tekkers. The ending of the opening is a neat cliffhanger that leaves us wondering if the man waiting in his car is an enemy or rival of sorts. Is he from another soccer team? What does he want from our main character? The director leaves us with more questions than answers which makes me want to see the rest of the film.
Offline

The Offline offers a glance into the world of an abducted girl & her abductee. The opening is intriguing in that it places an individual in danger right off the bat but the audience is unable to do anything to help and it seems as though no one is coming to her aid.
Dear Lover

Dear Lover focuses heavily on dialogue as the main character talks through the entire video; a combination of both diegetic and non-diegetic sounds are used. Camera angles are mostly close to the characters or objects through the entire video which is important towards creating a sense of intimacy and love that the purpose of this opening harps upon.
Dare to Thrill

The twist at the end is quite unexpected and provides the overview of what the rest of the movie is about. A song supports most of the video that was implemented during the editing process along with barely audible conversations and screams that appear to have been taken on camera (diegetically). Additionally, the opening provides a large tone shift from the vibrant, care-free attitudes of the teens to the suddenly serious situation that the kids place themselves in.
Always Watching
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-yrsmQS7bo&feature=youtu.be
“Always Watching” concentrates solely on close-up shots of individuals’ faces as well as medium shots to display the conversation of our two main characters as they go along their therapy session. Contrast is clearly shown as the male individual appears to be in a sensible conversation with his best friend but quickly changes when the individual in the orange shirt is held captive.
The Blue Boar

From being scolded for her unconservative actions against the church to turning the opening into a musical, the main protagonist is tired of her situation and wants to live in a free environment. According to the opening credits, the singing was conducted according to an original soundtrack so the song was created by the students. It’s a creative edge that gives the screenplay originality and validates the creativity of the opening. The costume design was on point for the opening as the clothing represents clear conservative values.
White Coat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=dvAsmo32uo0
The opening shows the mixing of a lot of chemicals and a sign displaying that the person in the room is being tested on, most likely through illegal means. Smoke is a constant element persistent through the video and is a reminder that the scientist wants to keep his work hidden.
Stalker
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxIZJKdc-Sw&feature=youtu.be
The scene begins calm, a complete opposite of the intense backdrop that is soon to ensue. In the opening, the editor uses a heartbeat soundtrack to emphasize the suspense of the situation that the girl finds herself in. Close-up shots of the main character’s face are shown to highlight her emotions of the scene, whether they be frightened or terrified.
Nostalgia
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p8azlLRHyqaShaOJC6SBJwzGx7s9Cjpk/view
The soundtrack employed through the entire opening is calm but heavy. It weighs the listener down but it finds a comfortable spot for them to rest at. An older woman and beautiful landscapes of towns next to the sea are shown. A younger girl with the same bandana as the older woman is shown at the end of the opening, most likely a representation of the woman’s younger self and both appear to look towards the horizon, a view that the audience is robbed of.
Lost and Found

The first person we meet is Nicholas Alvarado and he loses his sense of time as he is drawing a sketch. We hear his inner thoughts as he explains that he is going to be late to an unnamed event but is assured that he can finish the sketch at home. The next character Noelle Ramsey is curious to find out whether she got into an unnamed location, almost seemingly a college offer but it remains a mystery. As Ramsey heads into her shift at work, the audience is left with two major questions, what is that Nicholas felt missing from his drawing or circumstance and did Noelle get accepted into whatever she was looking to get into. This creates a feeling of emptiness for the audience and makes them want to watch the rest of the movie to find out. Background music or soundtracks are not an emphasis in this opening as it relies on sounds from the background to drive the opening forward.
Ultimately, the multiple openings changed our minds in the genre of film that we wanted from action-adventure to a detective/suspense driven film. This decision was largely moved by the opportunity to improve upon the Offline and Stalker openings. Burrowing certain elements from these films will probably happen but we are certain that we can create an original film that leaves a better taste in the audience’s mouth then the two previously mentioned films.
